Hansel Pond Improvments
The design improvements for Hansel Pond include dredging of excess sediment material from the pond; deepening the pond shelf around the outfall structure and the main portion of the pond; replacing the existing V-notch weir with a bleed down orifice; securing the existing outfall trash racks; installing a new angled skimmer to direct trash to the southern pond bank; installing limerock stabilization material at the southwest and southeast corners of the project site; installing a new 54-inch inflow pipe with associated manhole and mitered end section; installing a steel sheet pile wall to extend along the western and southern banks of the pond; and installation of articulated concrete block for side bank stabilization of pond slopes 2:1 and steeper.
