This design build Penn DOT Dist 12-0 project included the 2 phased construction of an adjacent box beam bridge and the 2 phased construction of a precast concrete box culvert. Additional work included water diversion, roadway paving, drainage and riprap installation. During abutment excavation we uncovered some hazardous soil material that was most likely from an old leaky fuel tank. The project came to a brief halt until the material was tested and sent to the proper containment landfill.
